when trying to set up two stage authentication my location comes up as wrong place

Hi, I'm trying to set up two stage authentification on all my devices, however when I do this I get a message on another device logged into iCloud saying that another device is trying to log into icloud from a location showing near London, I don't live in London though.

Could anybody help?

That's easy for them to say - i have an elderly father who gets bombarded with phishing emails, supposedly from Apple, saying someone has changed his details - he goes to check his account and where we live in Gloucestershire he gets a message telling him someone is attempting to access his account from Middlesbrough - 242 miles away from where we live - this just causes further panic.

Comment, unfortunately not a solution, have the same problem,

thought my kit was delivered of the back of a dodgy lorry.

Interesting seeing all these comments regarding the same issue, its a shame the people at Apple don't read it and do something about it.

Comments, like, "don't worry about it" are fine if they don't bother you.

Its that casual attitude that allows all the cyber hooligans out there to have fun, GREAT IF YOU KNOW ALL the tech stuff, but not so much fun for those that don't.

The Apples and Microsofts (i use both) of this world need to remember that many of their new or joining customers are either not tech savvy or just don't understand the detail.

Security issue are increasingly ever more demanding today,

WHY HAVE A WARNING ? if "it's nothing to worry about it".

ALSO, does anyone who works for these companies ever read what we say ?

Judging by the dates against some forum opinions covering years on some issues, apparently not.

Martin,

my rant for 2day.

Well, when I "Allow" a website to use my location it comes up as Buford, GA. I'm in the NE. It's not locating me where I actually am, so I am unable to use the find such and such "near me" feature. On my phone or computer. I cannot find a setting in my Apple ID or on phone or computer that lets me reset my location or anything. This has only begun recently, and was never a problem with this same provider before. I think it's an Apple software issue myself, but I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. Your explanation just doesn't make sense in my situation.
